We are pleased to welcome Dr Anna Miller and Dr Heather Simpson to the Chasing Likes team! Anna and Heather are joining as Research Assistants on the project.

Dr Anna Miller is a Research Assistant on the Chasing Likes project, and is based in the Department of Psychology at Durham University. Anna completed her PhD at the University of Leeds in 2024 and has since worked as a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Leeds.  Her research sits at the intersection of gender and disability studies, exploring the clinical and educational process that enact the category of ADHD.

Dr Heather Simpson is a Research Assistant on the Chasing Likes project, and is based in the Department of Psychology at Durham University. Heather initially trained and worked as a counselling psychologist in South Africa, before pursuing a career in research. Heather holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of York and was awarded her PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2025. Her research investigates the neurocognitive processes which support the development of key cognitive and socio-emotional skills, with application to education. Having worked as a school psychologist for a number of years, Heather is passionate about conducting research which advances developmental theory, and informs practice and policy.
